The 350,000th Chevrolet Niva vehicle rolled off
GM-AVTOVAZ assembly line in Russia earlier this month.
It was a Chevrolet Niva 1.7 GLS painted 'Milky Way'. GM-AVTOVAZ prepared a small surprise for the
new owner of the car - a personal letter from GM-AVTOVAZ Managing Director Jeffrey Glover and a branded
T-shirt in the not too extravagant gesture.
The first Chevrolet Niva SUV was produced at GM-AVTOVAZ in September, 2002. Since then the vehicle
has been extremely popular on the Russian and CIS markets and has largely contributed in Chevrolet
development and success in Russia. In 2010 the Joint Venture produced nearly 37,000 vehicles which is
61% more compared to 2009. In 2011 GM-AVTOVAZ will increase the production volume and plans to
manufacture about 52,000 units.
Chevrolet Niva is sold via a dealer network that includes 150 dealers in the Russian Federation and
8 dealers and 3 distributors in CIS countries.
