Topping the all-new X3 engine portfolio, BMW’s six-cylinder diesel arrives in showrooms ready to entice buyers with a wide-ranging list of standard features.

The X3 xDrive30d is the most highly specified model in the X3 line-up and with a nanufacturers list price (MLP*) of $74,900*, highlights both a lower price and increased value over its predecessor.

Thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics technologies including Brake Energy Regeneration Automatic Start/Stop function and Electric Power Steering, the revised in-line six cylinder diesel in the BMW X3 xDrive30d represents the ideal combination of power and performance characteristics.

Fuel economy improves by 1.7l from 7.7 l/100 km to 6.0 l/100 km, and the reduction in CO² emissions is an impressive 47 g/km from 206 g/km to 159 g/km. However, at the same time, power output has been increased by 30 kW to 190 kW. Maximum torque is 560 Nm, up by 60 Nm on the previous model, and is developed from 2,000 to 2,750 rpm, thus guaranteeing powerful pull even at low engine speeds.

Standard features such as the larger 18-inch light-alloy wheels, Automatic Tailgate Operation, X-Line Package, Nevada leather upholstery and electric seat adjustment distinguish the X3 xDrive30d over the four-cylinder X3 xDrive20d.

The X-Line Package is specifically designed to give customers enhanced exterior looks that further add value to the new diesel X3. It comprises of decorative mouldings for window frames in Aluminium satinated, Aluminium satinated side sills, front and rear bumpers with titanium look inserts and door sill with BMW designation.

Additional standard equipment on BMW’s new diesel X3 over the previous generation also includes Automatic Start/Stop function, Comfort Go, 8-speed automatic transmission, electric power steering with Servotronic, rear-view camera, USB interface, 40/20/40 split of rear seats, Radio Professional with 6.5” monitor and roof rails in Aluminium satinated.

Further to the extensive standard equipment lists, all BMW X3 models offer the ultimate in safety features. Each vehicle is fitted with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), active headrests and six airbags. In addition to these, all X3’s are equipped with a warning triangle and first aid kit.

The all new BMW X3 xDrive30d completes the mid-size luxury SUV line-up following the release a few months ago of other variants. Along with its 'siblings', the 6-cylinder diesel brings a combination of value, power and efficiency to the BMW range.
