BMW's April Fools Day Joke
|
Next Car's Editor, Stephen Walker, says BMW
in the UK has 'form' when it comes to stunts on April Fool's Day. This year, BMW ran an
advertisement (as they often do on this particular day) and the subject this year was their
announcement of a non-existent new model. The question is: how many thought BMW were being serious
on this occasion?
Be sure to double check the name of the BMW contact person taking the enquiries!

By the way, have you noticed how the "Will badge"
comes about? It's a slighlty modified inverted BMW "M" badge!

3rd April, 2011
As Great Britain and the Commonwealth of Nations
becomes gripped by royal wedding fever, BMW has come up a limited edition of the BMW M3 Coupé to
celebrate this special occasion.
Now available to order from dealerships across the UK, the Royal Edition of the M3 will be
available in a choice of three exclusive colours – Regal Red, Bridal White and Imperial Blue. It is
resplendently upholstered in Windsor White Dakota leather and adorned with a commemorative ‘Will’
emblem.
Joe Kerre, BMW Junior Operations Kindle Executive at BMW’s Forschungs und Narren division in
Munich (Germany), spoke passionately about the latest M car: “The Royal Wedding has captured the
people’s imagination so we thought that it would be a fitting tribute to offer an exclusive edition
of one of our most majestic models. Given the Windsor’s German heritage, the BMW M3 Royal Edition
should make for the ideal wedding gift.”
Further details on the BMW M3 Royal Edition can be obtained by contacting 0800 777 120 or by
