Shadow For BMW 7-Series
25th February, 2008 | ||||
BMW has designed a car for those customers who seek the utmost in luxury and look to own a more personalised vehicle, with a new BMW Individual-inspired 7 Series. The custom Brilliant White metallic exterior finish will be a focal point of the BMW stand at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show. The visual impact of the BMW Individual 7 Series White Shadow is accentuated by 20-inch BMW Individual V-Spoke light alloy wheels with Cetelon grey finish. The interior features BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery in Silverstone with Lotus White piping, Piano Black interior trim elements, BMW Individual steering wheel with insert in Piano Black, illuminated BMW Individual door sills and alcantara roof liner in Stone Grey. “Australians love to personalise their car through the exclusive BMW Individual programme,” said Scott Weis, BMW National Special Vehicles Manager. “As a result of this popularity, Australia is ranked one of the strongest BMW Individual markets worldwide. “Well known for offering customers an expression of personal taste and personality, BMW Individual offers a breathtaking range of options including everything from distinctive external paint finishes and interior furnishings to bespoke alloy wheels." “The BMW 7 Series White Shadow Edition combines these hallmark BMW Individual virtues with added exclusivity." “The finest quality materials and exacting workmanship that goes into even the finest details sets BMW Individual 7 Series models apart from other makes,” he said. BMW Individual was established in 1991 as a division of BMW M GmbH with the goal of leading the trend towards more individuality by concentrating on customers looking for made-to-measure solutions and making tougher demands on their BMW in terms of distinction, design and function. Applied in five-layers, BMW Individual paintwork stands apart from conventional finishes with rare, deep brilliance. The Brilliant White paintwork of the White Shadow edition features an extra two paint layers and exhibits the purest white hues. It is the first pearl white offered by BMW Individual. Equally as definitive in a BMW Individual vehicle is the Merino leather which is characterised by its refined appeal, extreme durability and comfort. Gentle tanning methods and “barrel pigmentation,” in which the dye penetrates through intensive rotation and is not just applied to the surface, give this material its richness of colour, strength and durability. Importantly, the living structure of this leather comes from its natural graining rather than artificial embossing. Interior trim in Piano Black is a sophisticated high gloss lacquered finish. The technique is on par with the polished surface achieved by famous piano makers using a time-consuming polishing and finishing process. Customers can also utilise the BMW Individual programme to express their personality and taste on vehicles ranging from the BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, X3, X5 and Z4. The BMW Individual 7 Series White Shadow edition is exclusively limited to 10 units embracing 740i, 740Li, 750i and 750Li, and will be available for delivery beginning in June, 2008.
