The new BMW 3 Series Sedan will strike a chord with the 40,000 Australians
who own and enjoy the previous generation 3 Series sedan, as well as provide an
irresistible allure to buyers who want to experience BMW driving pleasure,
Franz Sauter says.
At launch in May 2005, the new BMW 3 Series Sedan range consists of three
models - the 320i, equipped with a powerful 110 kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder
engine, mated to either a six-speed manual, or optionally available six-speed
automatic gearbox; the more luxuriously equipped 320i Executive (the most
popular model in the family) and the range-topping 330i. This uses the
sensationally powerful, lightweight and frugal all-new magnesium aluminium alloy
3.0-litre straight-six engine with 190 kW of power. A smaller capacity version of this new engine will debut in August
when the 160 kW 2.5-litre 325i arrives in Australian showrooms.
