30th October, 2007 | |||
Bentley reports continued worldwide success in its third quarter results with increases in sales volume, revenue and operating profit. Turnover in the period January to September 2007 increased to more than €1 billion, an improvement of 19.3 per cent over the same period last year. Operating profit also improved by €62 million, year-on-year, to €107 million. Bentley’s worldwide sales to the end of the third quarter were over 7,800 cars, up by around 19 per cent on the same period last year. This growth was led by emerging markets such as China (up by around 72%) with Bentley also recording strong sales growth in established markets such as the UK and Continental Europe (both up by around 30%) and the USA (up by around 10%). Demand for Bentley models remains strong across the board, spearheaded by the Continental GTC convertible, enjoying its first full year in the market. Sales of the flagship Arnage and Azure range increased by 75 per cent year-on-year, fuelled by the success of the new Azure convertible. “Our continuing strong product-led performance in the third quarter means that Bentley is on track for a fourth consecutive year of growth in worldwide sales and profitability,” said Stuart McCullough, Bentley’s Member of the Board, Sales and Marketing.“ In Australia, Bentley sales continue to boom. September YTD sales figures indicate some 113 units were sold in 2007, compared to 84 units in 2006, representing an impressive 34.5% increase. |
