Audi R8 Confirmed for Brisbane Motor Show
18th January, 2007 | ||||
Audi’s new R8 sports car will be the highlight of the Audi stand at the
upcoming Brisbane Motor Show next month. This is only the second time the
vehicle has been shown in Australia, following its Australian premiere in
Sydney in October 2006. Joining the R8 on the Audi stand will be the recently launched S8, RS 4
Avant, RS 4 Cabriolet and the brand new Audi TT Coupe. “Since it was first unveiled, the R8 has received enormous attention from
potential buyers and the public. As a result, we have decided to show this car
again in Brisbane,” said Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Joerg Hofmann. Confirmed for limited sale in Australia, the new R8 will be launched in
September this year. Pricing and specification is yet to be confirmed, however
the car is expected to be priced around $250-$300 thousand (RRP). The launch of the brand’s new sporty spearhead (the production R8) marks the
revival of the Audi R8 nameplate, the five-time winner of Le Mans. The new model
is based on the Le Mans quattro concept car that was first unveiled
internationally in 2004. In the same year, the concept car also appeared at the
Melbourne Motor Show. |
