Audi Set For Melbourne Motor Show

31st January, 2008

Audi TTS

Audi will be in full force at the Melbourne Motor Show this year, revealing the high performance TTS (roadster version shown opposite) and RS6 Avant as well as the all-new A4 range (A4 sedan shown below).

The Audi TTS is the top of the TT model line, adding extra performance to the new TT range in both coupe and roadster variants.

Powered by a two-litre TFSI high-performance engine that delivers 200 kW, the TTS Coupe can go from 0 to 100 km/h in a super car like 5.2 seconds.

Its spoiler extends automatically when the speed reaches 120 km/h and retracts when it drops back to 80 km/h.

The original TT was launched 10 years ago and its distinctive design continues on in the new TT, while the TTS has deeper sills, a 'muscular' rear bumper and two sets of twin tailpipes that give it a sporty character all of its own.

The new Audi RS6 Avant stretches performance almost beyond imagination for a luxury wagon, out-powering competitors with it 426 kW, twin-turbo, direct injection V10.

Audi promises to set the standard for high-performance luxury vehicles with the RS6, which offers up to 1,660 litres of luggage space in a subtly eye-catching wagon body style.

Audi A4

In the volume-selling prestige segment, Audi will present an all-new A4 that shares styling cues and platform engineering with the A5 and S5 coupes revealed at last year's Motor Show.

Audi has moved the A4's front axle forward relative to the engine and transmission, extending the wheelbase by 154 mm in a body shell which itself is longer and wider than before.

Styling echoes the sportiness and elegance of the A5 and S5 coupes, with gentle curves and strong lines complementing Audi's distinctive single-frame radiator grille.

The 2008 Melbourne Motor Show runs from 5 PM on Thursday 29th February until 6 PM on Monday 10th March and is organised and promoted by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce through its dealer division the Australian Automobile Dealers Association (Victoria).
