11th November, 2005
Following a gruelling season of the German Touring
Car Masters series (DTM), Audi drivers swapped their sweaty racing overalls for
renowned Italian fashion label, René Lezard.
Vice-champion Mattias Ekström and his seven team members paraded their new
designer suits at the DTM season-ending gala at Hockenheim. The DTM stars
happily exchanged their racing helmets for tailored jackets and silk woven ties,
a vast difference to their earlier appearance.
The exclusive Italian fashion house, based in Schwarzach, Germany, has
recently partnered with Audi as the exclusive tailor for the drivers and team
members.
Founded by Thomas Schaefer in 1978, René Lezard has been dressing men and
women for over 27 years. The exclusive fashion house prides itself on absolute
quality and workmanship and is renowned for producing designs with a classic and
relaxed elegance.
Earlier in the day, the drivers caused a sensation in their suits by playing
up to the camera at an exclusive photo shoot in the Hockenheim pitlane alongside
the Audi A4 DTM car.
