21st May, 2013
Fiat Chrysler Group today announced details of an expanded Alfa Romeo
Giulietta range with the introduction of four new variants that deliver an improvement in affordability for the stylish
Italian small car.
As the next step in the new positioning programme for Alfa Romeo models in Australia, the expanded Giulietta range
continues to offer all of the traditional Alfa Romeo values of performance and efficiency, elegant design and Italian
heritage, but at a price point that puts it within reach of more customers than ever before.
“Earlier this year we outlined a new pricing structure for the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands to make these iconic
Italian vehicles more affordable and more accessible to the Australian market,” said Ms Veronica Johns, CEO of Fiat
Chrysler Group Australia.
“The introduction of an expanded Giulietta range is the next step in our repositioning programme for Alfa Romeo and
we’re confident the significant improvements we’ve made to the value equation for this vehicle line will attract the
attention of new car buyers.”
The new entry-level Giulietta and Giulietta Progression variants join the existing Distinctive and QV models to
complete a new four-tier grade system for the Giulietta line-up, with pricing for the entry Giulietta starting from just
$25,000 drive-away.
The new entry Giulietta variant is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 88 kW of power and 206
Nm of torque from a low 1,750 rpm, which gives it genuine driving flexibility and real world performance. Aided by the
low inertia of the turbocharger, the 1.4 TB engine is ideal for those in search of a car that can handle city traffic
effortlessly while keeping running costs to a minimum.
The turbo engine ensures prompt response and maximum performance even at low revs, while the ‘Start&Stop’ system
makes it possible to reduce fuel consumption and emission levels even further, without compromising comfort and on-board
safety.
The new Giulietta Progression model line is available with the more powerful 1.4-litre TB MultiAir turbo petrol
engine, which produces 125 kW of power and 250 Nm peak torque, or the 2.0-litre JtdM MultiJet turbo-diesel powerplant,
which delivers 125 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque.

In addition to the upgraded petrol or optional diesel engine, other equipment and features on the Progression models
over the entry-level Giulietta include 16-inch alloy wheels, driver’s seat electric lumbar adjustment, electric folding
exterior mirrors and a rear seat centre armrest.
All the key active and passive safety devices are fitted as standard on the new Giulietta and Giulietta Progression
variants, just as they are on the others in the Giulietta range, including a full complement of six airbags – driver and
front passenger airbags, side airbags and head-protecting curtain airbags – as well as ABS with ASR Brake Assistant, ESC
with Hill Holder and the Alfa DNA system.
The unique Alfa DNA system allows the car’s 'personality' to be adapted to the needs of the driver and different road
conditions. In Dynamic mode, the car’s engine response is immediate, delivering the performance you would expect from the
sporting spirit of any Alfa Romeo.
With the selector set to Natural, a comfortable, smooth drive is guaranteed at all times while fuel consumption is
also reduced.
In All Weather mode, the car is ready for the toughest grip conditions by alerting and enabling all of the active
safety systems in advance, while engine response will become more gradual and controlled.
The expanded Giulietta range goes on sale in Alfa Romeo dealerships around Australia this week.
