The club was founded in 1984 by Glenn Adams and was immediately successful with many owners keen to join. The aims of the club are to support members in restoration, legal modification, advice, knowledge, social gatherings etc. Membership is open to anyone who owns an FE of FC Holden in whatever condition.

FE models were first produced in 1956 and ended in 1958 – whilst the FC models began in 1958 and ended in 1959. Many colour combinations were available, but all cars ran with the same 132.5 cubic inch motor and 3 speed manual gearbox.  The FE and FC Holdens were exported to South Africa, Fiji and Papua New Guinea. The models available were: Utility, Panel Van, Sedan (Standard, Business, Special) and Station Sedans (Standard and Special).

The display, on show until 13th October 2007, will feature:

• 1957 FE Special Station Sedan (Blue and White):
  FE Station Sedans were Holden’s first mass produced wagon and all were manufactured in Adelaide. They were also assembled in Sydney and Melbourne. Only around 7,500 were made. This car was owned by the Hughes brothers and was on display at the National Holden Museum at Echuca for many years.
• 1958 FC Panel Van (Blue):
  Restored a few years ago and featuring many NASCO accessories, this vehicle is featured in this years Classic Holden Calendar.
• 1959 FC Ute (Cream):
  Restored in 2004 and it is also featured in this years Classic Holden Calendar.
• 1958 FC Business Sedan (Army Staff Car) Army Green:
  The Business Sedan had a few more options than the Standard. Most visible is the hand rail over the back of the front seat. They were mostly for taxis or government departments and only around 800 were built. Ordered with the Army package consisting of green army paint, fire extinguisher, logbook holder, oil filter and no tool kit! This car was used by the Army until 1965.

The FC model celebrates its 50th anniversary next year which coincides with the regular bi-annual National Show'N'Shine event which SA is hosting at Mt Gambier at Easter, 2008. Some 100 - 200 FE and FC Holdens are expected to be on display.
